Care & maintenance

The websites that embarrass a business are almost never badly built. They are two years old, three prices out of date, and nobody has had a reason to open them since launch.

Care is the standing arrangement that stops that. Dependencies and platform versions are kept current, security advisories are acted on, backups are verified rather than assumed, and uptime and performance are watched.

Two hours a month of actual changes are included (prices, staff, a new service, a page that needs rewriting), because the alternative is a quote for every small edit, which is how sites go stale.

The monthly report is one page: what changed, what was patched, how the site performed, and what we think should happen next month. If nothing needed doing, it says that.

What you get

Four things arrive, in this order.

Everything below is in the scope by default. If a project does not need one of them, it comes off the quote rather than being quietly left out.

  1. 01

    Updates

Framework, dependency and platform updates applied on a staging URL first, then promoted.

  2. 02

    Security

Advisories monitored, certificates renewed, headers reviewed, and access audited twice a year.

  3. 03

    Changes

Two hours a month of content and small design changes, rolled over one month if unused.

  4. 04

    The report

One page, monthly: what changed, uptime, performance, and the recommendation for next month.

How it runs

From the first call to the handover.

You see the work at every stage, on something real. Nothing on this list needs chasing.

  1. 01

    Baseline

Where the site is now: versions, performance, accessibility, and anything already broken.

  2. 02

    Catch up

One pass to bring everything current, included in the first month rather than billed extra.

  3. 03

    Monthly cycle

Updates, verification, your changes and the report, on the same date every month.

  4. 04

    Quarterly review

Thirty minutes on what the site is doing for the business, and what should change.

Questions

The things people ask before they commit.

  • Do you only maintain sites you built?

No, but we start with a paid audit for sites we did not build, so nobody signs a monthly agreement over an unknown.

  • What if I need more than two hours?

Additional work is billed at an hourly rate quoted up front, and we tell you before we start rather than after.

  • Can I cancel?

Monthly, with thirty days' notice. Everything stays yours, and we hand over the deployment.
