What 99.9% actually commits us to.
Every site and mailbox we host is checked around the clock by monitoring that does not work for us. This page explains what is watched, what the number means in minutes, and what happens when something fails.

What is being watched, all the time.
Monitoring you run yourself only tells you what you already believe, so the checks below run from independent infrastructure outside our own.
- Reachability
- Every hosted site is requested from outside our network every minute. Two failed checks in a row raise an alert to a person.
- Certificates & domains
- TLS certificates renew automatically and are checked daily; domain and DNS expiry is watched weeks out, never discovered on the day.
- Mail flow
- SPF, DKIM and DMARC on hosted domains are verified on a schedule, because deliverability fails silently long before anybody notices.
- Backups
- Nightly, kept for thirty days, and restored on a test schedule. A backup that has never been restored is a hope, not a backup.
99.9% is a number, not an adjective.
Over a month, 99.9% allows about 43 minutes of downtime. That is the ceiling we hold managed hosting to, planned maintenance included. Here is the same promise at different strengths, so you can see what the figure you are sold elsewhere really buys.
| Uptime | Allowed downtime / month | Allowed downtime / year | In practice |
|---|---|---|---|
| 99% | ≈ 7 hours 18 min | ≈ 3.7 days | A morning down, every month |
| 99.5% | ≈ 3 hours 39 min | ≈ 1.8 days | Noticeable, regularly |
| 99.9% | ≈ 43 minutes | ≈ 8.8 hours | Our commitment on managed hosting |
| 99.99% | ≈ 4 minutes | ≈ 53 minutes | Quoted per project, priced accordingly |
What an incident looks like from your side.
- 01
You usually hear it from us
Alerts reach us before most people notice. If a hosted service is down more than a few minutes, affected clients get an email saying so.
- 02
A person owns it
One of us takes the incident and stays on it. You are never asked to open a ticket about a thing we told you about.
- 03
Plain-language updates
What broke, what it affects, and when the next update comes. No status-speak, no "degraded performance" when the honest word is down.
- 04
A written post-mortem
Anything over thirty minutes gets a short written account afterwards: cause, fix, and what changes so it does not repeat.
